Welcome!
What's on your mind? Conflict with family or friends? Difficulties in school or at work? A recent change or life-altering experience? Well, if you need someone to hold your hand as you navigate these challenges, I'm here for you. Struggling against difficult emotions can be draining, and life can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and disconnected from your own sense of power. Deciding what to do about an issue can seem impossible, especially if you feel like you're doing it all by yourself. I’m here to let you know that there is a way out, and you don't have to find it alone!
How I work:
When you meet with me, you’ll find a space where you can just exist and be true to yourself. I offer an authentic, compassionate presence, free of judgement or set expectations. I often draw on Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, Play Therapy and Art Therapy. I am unwavering about the fact that one size does NOT fit all. As a multi-cultural Black woman, I use my lens to help clients with similar backgrounds. I see my job as a therapist to create a safe, collaborative environment for people who are struggling. I believe that a client should be in charge of their healing journey, and that I'm here to play a supporting-role. My approach is often solution-oriented, but I also know when to step back and just listen with intention.
What you can expect with me:
I'm described as a warm, empathetic therapist who is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and families through an emotionally-focused, person-centered lens. You’ll get to know yourself on a deeper level as you learn useful coping skills, how to set healthy boundaries, and much more. My ultimate goal is to help you feel confident in who you are and who you’re becoming, even when things aren’t perfect. So, tell me - what's on your mind?
More than just my work:
I could call myself a gamer, even though the only game I play is the Sims 4 :). I also enjoy gathering with friends and family, and my favorite TV show is Brooklyn 99.
